Trouble on the USC fan front

Long time USC homer and ABC broadcaster Keith Jackson officially retired today. Reasons for his retirement were senility, inability to translate action into words, and slurred speech. But we at the LSUoverUSC Blog have to question this move. It seems rather more than coincidental that this would happen amidst one of the largest college football program scandals of all-time. Could it be that Keith could no longer tolerate watching his beloved Trojan$ self destruct? First Housegate and now Dirty Sanchez.

In other news, life long USC supporter and friend of Pete Carroll, Snoop Dogg was arrested in London's Heathrow International Airport. First reports say that Snoop and his USC entourage hurled bottles of whisky and argued with staff at a duty free shop after being refused entry to a first-class lounge. In the end, seven London police officers were injured. Snoop, there must be another way to let off steam from your anger and disappointment at the train wreck that is the USC football program.

These are rough times for USC, but unlike ESPN and other large media outlets who have made it their business to promote USC instead of report on USC, we will keep you up to date on it all.

Keith Jackson to retire. That sucks, but that's another nationally recognized figure associated with USC that's not associated with lsu. Does lsu have anything of national recognition that it can associate itself with?

Keith Jackson is a graduate of Washington State. He has a very strong allegiance to them yet has consistently bent over backwards to be as fair as possible. You could learn a little about class from him.

Jackson was the voice of college football. He should have retired after the 1998 season as he originally said he was.Perfect ending. He called the first ever BCS title game when Tennessee beat Florida State in the Fiesta.

Nope,he got too full of himself and started injecting too much opinion into his play by play. His shoeshining and pedicure of Southern Cal during the 2004 Rose Bowl while whimsically wondering what the fuss was about the Sugar Bowl a few days later was very unprofessional on many counts.

He also has selective memory to make himself look good. While doing the infamous 1978 Gator Bowl when Woody Hayes hit a Clemson player near the end of the game,Jackson never mentioned it during the telecast.Jackson claimed he never saw it,all the while trying to protect Hayes. After being berated by ABC brass, during the Penn State-Alabama Sugar Bowl a few days later,he slipped in a comment about the incident as if reading a legal brief. However,a year ago when interviewed during ESPN Classic's Sports Centuryon Hayes,he opined how horrible Hayes' outburst was and how it was a disturbing pattern of his during his coaching days.

Take a hike,Keith. This time PLEASE don't come back.

The whole point of this website, USC fans, is that this unemployed lsu grad is trying to make a rival out of you since they don't have one. lsu is not even in the same league usc is. It has a much better football tradition, is much better academically, and is, best of all, lot located in louisiana. USC's rivals are Notre Dame and ucla. I think LSU's rivals are Louisiana Lafayette and Ole Miss, since no respectable sec traditions such as Alabama or Tennessee will claim them. It must really suck to have had the only pride to hit red stick in 50 years was cut in half by USC. Be glad you did'nt play them. You would have still only had one national championship in red stick. The dipshit who named the great USC players forgot to mention Jason Sehorn, Junior Seau, Carson Palmer, Marcus Allen, Ronnie Lott, etc. etc. (all of them all-pros) You lsu fans STILL haven't mentioned who your great pro players were or are.

OJ Simpson, Reggie Bush, Winston Justice, Mark Sanchez.

Both LSU and USC have just one national championship since 1978. USC is not elite.

I guess usc fans throw wine bottles when they're frustrated. lsu fans throw Pabst Blue Ribbon, Keystone, and Milwaukee's Best beer bottles at opposing team's busses when they lose.
